Default Toyota Dealer CAN document Lexus Service History

Hi guys, new member here. I recently bought a used 2013 ES 350, and took it to my local Toyota Dealer for the 30K service. To save money, I bought and replaced the Engine Air filter, Cabin Air Filter, Wiper inserts and told them not to rotate tires since the best tread was already of the front axle. So, $68 for oil change/filter, $149 for replacing brake fluid and shop supplies, and a complimentary 38 multipoint inspection which covers everything (and more) in the Lexus owners manual. Total came up to $240. In at 7am, done by 8:30am. My biggest surprise is that the Toyota service advisor informed me that they CAN update the vehicle service history electronically. Sure enough, I got home and 3 hours later, it shows "Dealer Reported" with the repair order number as the above service being completed. Has anyone else asked their Toyota dealer if they have the ability to update Lexus service history electronically?

Mine updated too. Went on to owners link on Lexus.com and it showed the maintenance done at the Toyota dealership. For me not only is it cheaper but a lot closer. I take my Mobil 1 bought at Walmart (5 quart jug $24) and oil filter bought at Lexus Parts World to them and they charge me $20 labor for the oil change. I buy my oil filters, wiper blade inserts, and air filters from Lexus Parts World and do this myself. Use CL5 in the promotion code to get a 10% discount. Cabin air filters, I buy at Walmart Fram Fresh Breeze #10285 with carbon and baking soda to filter the air.

You do know you can update your own service history too on the Lexus Drivers site right? I use an independent mechanic and update every service stop on the site.

Question...

Does Toyota automatically do the update to vehicle history or is it something you have to ask them to do?
