Default Passenger Side Mirror

Passenger side mirror is not rotating while car is in reverse no matter what position I have the mirror selection control. Am I missing something in a set up option? Seems like it did a week ago?

Thanks

Mine were set from the beginning and work exactly as designed. Not aware of any setting one has to change. Perhaps someone else can clarify any settings.

Other than making sure that the mirror control switch is in either the L or R position, there are no other settings that control mirror operation, and, if that switch is in either the L or R position, both mirrors should be tilting downward when the transmission is shifted into reverse.

Are you able to use the mirror switch to manually adjust the position of that mirror in all directions? If you are able to do so, that would seem to eliminate the possibility of a bad mirror motor. On the other hand, if you can't manually adjust the mirror position with the switch, that would seem to point toward the motor as being the possible cause of the problem. Otherwise, a faulty switch could be the culprit.

Also, there is a fuse (#44) for the mirror operation, but that fuse controls both the left and right mirrors (and a number of other things). Thus, if that fuse was blown, neither mirror should be operating at all.

I had an issue when I first got my 13 some years ago--try putting the car in Reverse with the mirror switch in R or L, then adjust the mirrors where you want them for backing up, then shift back to Drive. See if they return to normal position. Put the mirror switch in R or L and then see if the mirrors will do what you expect in Reverse.

If the mirror moves when you manually use the control to adjust it, you might try saving the lowered mirror adjustment again. I believe you need to shift into reverse, adjust the mirrors down, then hit the set button and the driver 1 button on the door. Your owners manual has the exact procedure in case I am wrong.

Put in reverse, set mirrors, saved and worked great!

Thanks!
