I have a JL Audio HD110W6 powered by a JL Audio XD600.1v2. I am considering removing the factor sub (its disconnected right now) to all for more airflow into the passenger cabin. I am wondering if anyone with aftermarket subs has done this. How was the sound? .

I put sound deadening material on the underside of the deck but I am still getting some rattles from back deck

It will most likely sound better with the sub facing the rear bumper. You should try it.

I will try that setup. I just removed the factory 10" sub and sound deadened the rear deck (Top and bottom) plus the trunk. It made a huge difference in bass quality even with the subk firing sideways. Thanks for the suggestion.

There is a 4 AWG for + and -. The amp is rated at 600W at 2 ohms (which is what the impedance of the sub is)

Hi guys, got a noob question.
The amp I have only takes RCA cables. I bought a high-low converter, but it has two positive and two negative leads. All the YouTube videos I saw didn't have a subwoofer and they tapped the +/- on right and left rear speakers.

So do I just tap both positive leads (R and left) to one terminal and negative to the other on the factory sub? Or just tap left and right rear speakers?

I finally was able to work it out today!

So, I tapped the wires to the amp. (Blue and Green, pins 6 and 21). From there, I ran the wires to the trunk. In the trunk, I attached the LOC. I tried a couple of different ways because the LOC splits off to Left and Right RCAs. The first way I tried was just hooking positive and negative to one side (Right side). That worked fine.and didn't have any issues. Then, I wired both left and right to the positive and negative. First it turned off the sub, so I flipped it and it's a little louder than just using one side and sounds a bit more deep. I figured if this wasn't right I could just unplug one of the RCAs.

Some really clean looking installs here. Any issues getting past the B-Pillar? I screwed up the seat belt tension in my last car when I ran the power wire I'd really like to avoid that this time.
