Default Question about the USB port

I plugged in a USB drive (with some MP3 files in it) into one of the USB ports. Both USB1 and USB2 are greyed out in the media selection. I then tried to plug my phone in through a USB cable and I can see it's charging. But both USB1 and USB2 are still greyed out. What should I do next? Thanks!

Not sure if this will help but on my 2015 300h I think the usb ports were greyed out but the dealer set my android phone to connect. I checked and changed the phone to just phone connect only which prevents the phone from supplying music and now I have two usb sticks providing classical and rock on each.

Make sure your USB drive is formatted as FAT32. Then copy the mp3 files and try again

Thanks both. Tried a 4GB drive and it works. The one did not work was a 2GB drive.
