Has anyone added a sub?
The radio in my 2016 ES350 (non-ML audio) has very nice mids and highs, but I find the low end somewhat lacking despite playing with the tone controls numerous times.
Has anyone added a sub to their 350 and how involved was it? Did it add what seems to be a missing low end. My friend has the identical ES350 and also complains about a lack of bass.

I added a 12" sub with a custom made bandpass enclosure. The port was built to fire through the armrest so all the sound went straight into the car. No rattle from the trunk or the rear deck. Sounded great.
Only downside was bandpass enclosures are huge so my trunk was barely usable.

Stock Lexus Stereo minimal wiring with Audio Control LC-2 & ACR-2 bass control up front. 6g Power wire from battery with 60amp breaker. Connected the ACR-2 to the sub wiring to get a signal for the amps. Auto remote on using the LC-2

I have the regular (non ml) audio and it is livable, but i really want to upgrade. I havent figured out what the use of sound levelizer is. It seems like it adds some digital noise to the high end so i have turned it off on all source inputs. The surround sound is okay for satellite radio, which is already robotic sounding so the surround isnt altering the character of the eq for that much. Overall there is not much detail on cymbals. And the louder you turn it up, the worse it sounds across all the speakers. Good stereos do the opposite. Rap music sounds great when the sub is pushed below 60 hz, hard rock sounds terrible. I have always upgraded my car audio on all previous cars. Soon i will do the same with es. Probably a sub+ amp and tweets. I will see how that turns out before deciding on the mids.
