upcoming roadtrip, need for front end protection?
Hi All,
I am planning a road trip from Florida to Rhode Island this summer, and am hoping for some advise on protecting the front of my ES. Would a good coat of wax and a few dryer sheets to clean off the bugs be enough, or do I need to invest in something like a car bra?
The car is about 2 years old and about 14k miles. Sees little to no highway travel, and no marks or scratches. Plan to avoid DC, NJ, and NY traffic by taking 95 to 17 to 81 to 84. Really only major city will be Richmond.
Thoughts and advise will be appreciated.

I've covered my front end and mirrors with painters tape when I go on long road trips to cars shows just make sure it doesn't sit too long in heat and remove it before it rains. I highly recommend finding an independent shop to cover the entire hood and bumper with paint portection film. If you have extra money to spend get the mirrors, partial fender and a strip under the moon roof done.

Thank you for the great suggestions.
It's a fairly long trip and I appreciate that some kind of protection would be good insurance. For me, I think the removable car bra / mask is the way to go.
Thanks,
Bob

If driving on winter treated roads be aware of any sand or grit getting under the cover as it can still damage the paint. Melting snow or rain can wash the grit under the edge of the cover.

I would recommend clear bra as it's a long term solution and generally has self-healing properties and some are guaranteed for life. I have Nano Fusion on mine and it's great.
