Default 2014 engine bay cover lost!

I never had to open the engine hood so I don't know if this truly existed or not. But I was trying to change the air filter in looking at videos very noticed that some of the reviews were showing engine bay Cover.

The problem is I don't have the engine bay cover. Did they stop making it or did one of the mechanics misplaced it or lost it when he was changing the oil ?

I'm not completely sure I know what cover you are referring to but yes there is a plastic cover over the engine that could only get misplaced not lost. And I don't think it comes off for an oil change. If you are referring to something under the car like some of the earlier Lexus had I'm not sure.

Was it a Lexus dealer who did your oil change?

The cover over the engine area is very secure and could not just "come off". If it's missing it was taken off and not replaced at some point. What I don't understand is, if it was removed by a technician and he/she failed to replace it, they would have one extra engine cover on the floor of the service area.
It does not come off with an oil change. Something amiss here...

Depending if you have a ES300h or ES350 here are what you should see under the hood.

If I recall correctly, the OP bought the ES used. If that was the case, I would wonder about the possibility that the cover was removed before the OP bought the vehicle.

The previous gen ES350 (2007-2012) had a plastic engine cover. I think it was not included with new gen.

I'm wondering if op is referring to the plastic shrouding that covered the whole top of the engine compartment in previous ES models, but doesn't in the latest generation. I think the upper end models(ls, rx) still have it.

Guys seriously embarrassed. I compared the pictures to my car and it looks like everything is in order.

The confusion came from the fact that I was looking at some of the YouTube videos and some of the cars had a complete plastic cover over the area where the engine air filter sits.
Thank you!!
Love how helpful this forum is!!!!

Yes I did. I was thinking the OP may have seen a previous gen car with the cover.

Some Lexus engine compartments are completely covered, so I understand why OP got confused.
