Like the side moldings, have 'em on my car. Not so much the wind deflectors...

I own a 2015 ES350 without door side moldings and have no plans on getting them installed as I prefer the "clean" and uncluttered look of not having moldings. I had my car tinted with 3M crystalline tint at the 30% level as I have had several instances of skin cancer and want the UV protection that the tint provides (something like a 98% protection level as I recall). A side benefit of tinting is that it helps keep the inside of the car cooler in the summer months making the air conditioning work somewhat more effectively, but that's secondary for me to the UV protection. One more side benefit of the tinting will be to keep my black leather from deteriorating faster (my car is silver with black leather). Good luck with your new ES...we love ours.

I would disagree on side moldings. IMO they are not just protecting your doors but adding some style in cars look.
I have them ordered on my car and now thinking about getting those door wind deflectors.
What you guys think?
Never understood the door wind deflectors. To me they make a car look low-rent.

When I ordered my ES300h thru my local dealer, the car came with body side moldings which I hated so much I had the dealer remove before I took delivery of the car. I'm one of those guys who park far far away from everyone else to avoid people dinging my doors as best I can. I prefer a long walk over those plastic moldings any day! Speaking of tint, I'm in the process of getting quotes as that is my next step.

Just looking for opinions please... Is 20% too dark on a white car with light interior or no? And those side moldings... ? Thank you!

Happy Lexus girl here!

I have a 2014 ES and a friend just bought a 2015 pre-owned. They are both White and similarly equipped except I have the side molding and he does not. With the fact that we often park them side-by-side (my wife calls me a nerd for doing so) I must say (and he agrees) that the molding not only protects but accents the styling in a nice way. Of course that would be a relative opinion so whatever works best for you in regards to keeping or shedding yours.

Mine is a 2015 and I agree, it's an awesome car. It's a year old and I still smile when I look at it.
I love my tinted windows but I'm not a fan of the side moldings. Mine has a pinstripe with the L logo to give it character.

Very nice photo and beautiful wheels. I have Satin Cashmere and now wish I had gotten the dark gray. (Don't know what the color name is...)

It's called Nebula Gray Pearl. Got any pics of that 1931 Ford Roadster you can share? What color is it?

Thanks. They do offer some protection and also make that huge Lexus door appear a bit smaller.
