ES350 quoted $292 for 15k service
Hello,
I was going for a weekend trip and needed to get my service done by Lexus but they are charging me $292 for the 15k mile service. I was going on a road trip on memorial day weekend and was expecting to get a loaner from them for the weekend. But now that they have quoted me the service charge, I'm debating if to get a rental or go through Lexus and pay the service.
Is it worth paying and going through service? If I don't, I'll be paying for renting a car from somewhere and will also be taking the car somewhere else for maintenance. Also how many more services would I have to pay till 30k

All you need is an oil change and tire rotation. Less than $100 job

The 15,000 mile service should be one of the least expensive services. It only includes a tire rotation and a number of checks. A tire rotation shouldn't cost any more than $10-20 at a tire store, and the other checks are normally done as a courtesy with no additional charge.
Not only would I not pay $292 to a Lexus dealer for 15,000 mile service, but I would avoid that particular Lexus dealer for any type of service. Many of us have discovered that we can get the same service done at a Toyota dealer for half or less than what the Lexus dealers charge. In your case, you would likely be able to get the work done at a Toyota dealer for less than 10% of what the Lexus dealer wants.
That dealer (and many other Lexus dealers) are counting on there being a lot of people with more money than brains.

I agree with the others. The only additional items are the two filters, which can be picked up cheaply on Amazon.
My question is regarding your perceived expectation of the loaner vehicle. The service should only take about an hour, so the loaner would be expected back in a reasonable time frame. Not a three day weekend!

HAHA OP pulling that common myth, where a business man needed parking for his Ferrari in NYC. So instead of paying for garage to be scratched up, he opened a 15k loan, used his ferrari as collateral at a local Manhattan bank overnight. Next morning came back, returned the full loan and picked up his Ferrari and drove home LOL.
Dude really? Unless the rental car + oil change + tire rotation is $300, then your better off doing those things seperately

But even that isn't all necessary because, at 15,000 miles, there is not even an oil change required. It is basically just the tire rotation with oil changes only at 10,000 and 20,000 miles.

OT a bit but last week I took my son's Denali in for and oil change and tire rotation - both free - at 15k miles and the dealer asked if I also wanted the 15K service for and additional $360. I declined and looked in the owner's maintenance manual later and saw that the 15K service is an oil change and tire rotation - no other service even recommended.

Is this the difference between required maintenance and dealer recommended service? It's no secret that dealers are notorious for recommending all kinds of things that aren't required by the manufacturer.

Correction: Tire rotation only for $10.00 vs.15k "service" $292.00 at Lexus dealer...

Lol, what am I to do? Trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. I think rental + oil change + tire rotation will cost more. Normally I'd keep the car whole weekend and they're OK with that.
