I found a set of four 17" Lexus rims on eBay which were a takeoff from a new es300h. They are in perfect condition, paid $600 including shipping from a store in California. Added some Michellin premier A/S tires for about $750, so total cost to switch to the 17s was about $1,350. It was worth it for the improved ride and handling. I Considered an after market rim, but decided I wanted to stay with only a Lexus rim from the ES. I have the 18s with the Michellin mxm4 tires up for sale now, and the are in perfect shape. A couple offers but still waiting to try to get at least $900. I have read the 17s will do a little better than the 18s in snow, but have not had them in snow yet.

Too bad you're so far away as I'd like to try 18"ers on my car.

I have a 2013 ES350 with the original Bridgestone Turanza tires with 24K miles. A terrible ride and noisy; and they are done, well done! What brand would anyone recommend? I am looking at the Pirelli Cintrada Strada or the Michelin Primacy MXM4. Discount Tire shows the Strada to be the quietest.

Yes, Pirelli Cinturato Strada tires, 225/45 R18 95V. And could I use 245/45 R18 to improve the ride? And what about speedometer accuracy?

interesting. Apparently the Cinturato Strada is a Discount Tire only version of the Cimturato P7 Plus which is what I have.

That at tire size would affect the speedometer.

If I like the ride with the Michelin Primacys that came on my ES what do you recommend when it comes time to replacement. Is it true the Primacys are discontinued?

Not sure how many miles u have but if it isnt time to replace them, any suggestions may be discontinued by the time you need them also.

Just got the car but when I test drove one with Bridgestones I had no idea the difference tires could make so just decided to ask since I saw this thread but you have a very good point thanks.

Default Recommended tires

I installed the Michelin PremiumA/S and would recommend based on quietness, ride and handling.

Default Response to question

Zipit555 - in response to your question, I sold the 18" rims and Michelin tires for $1,100.

Default Bridgestone Turanza 18'' Wheels

Hi CL members,

I recently purchased 2014 Lexus ES with Luxury package and upgraded 18'' wheels that comes with Bridgestone Turanza. My car put on 19k miles and the tires looks fine. But my ride is not smooth and i can feel every bump in the road and lot of road noise on rough surfaces.
By going through CL forum i found its the characteristic of 18'' wheels combined with Bridgestone tires.

Do I need to just replace the tires(Michelin, Pirelli) to get the smooth ride or I need to change my wheels as well (to 17'').

People who owned the Bridgestone 18'' please share your experience.

I have a new 2016 ES that came with 18" Michelins and I have no issue with them. Ive heard others say the Bridgestones are noisy... but I think my 18' are quiet... Some think 17' are quieter... but Im not sure how much they think.. may be an individual thing

I understand your frustration with the 18s. I ran 18"s with Michelins for 5,000 miles, but still found the ride to be rougher than I preferred. Sold the 18" tires and wheels for $1100, and purchased new 17" rims - a takeoff from an ES300h on EBay for $600 and added new Michelin Premium A/S. Much nicer ride and quieter. Hope this is helpful.
