Default 2016 ES350 Hardwire Radar Detector Install

We just swapped our 2010 ES350 for a 2016.
Now I had to hardwire the Escort 9500ix Radar Detector
I used a MirrorMount ($36) and Hardwire cable ($15) from The performance Group - radarmount.com
The install was not complicated and was quick
Next to wire in the Dashcam

I agree as I will be upgrading my Radar Detector shortly and have thought about a dash cam, too. Doesn't get more descriptive than a good video!

Good luck. This is a pretty easy install, especially with the parts I used.
No splicing or soldering of the wiring was a nice plus

I posted on the Dashcam in a different string. In case you didn't see it here's the video on that one.
I wired them to different harnesses. If I were to do it over I'd probably splice the dash cam lead to the Radar connector lead and use the same connector.

Thank you for this. I was having a hard time getting to the wires to determine polarity and this saved the day.

EJC - Thank you for posting this video, brought to my attention thanks to bc6152. Just used it to complete installation of my hardwire (rvm tap) for my new Uniden in my '17 ES 300h. I was lost as to which plug/wires to use, your video matched my wiring precisely and made hookup a breeze!

I don't recall which is 12V constant, Use a vom and a sewing pin to find a live line.
Doesn't the camera have a battery and bump sensor?

Thanks. No the camera battery is only for the clock and to preserve the data. May be it lasts for a minute or so.
