I've had times when they work great and other times you can't tell they're on.

Not sure what makes the difference or if my car has an inherent problem.

Somebody mentioned here the intensity changes on Eco Mode, I'll have to check that.

Technical Service Bulletin AKA TSB.
Solution to a known problem but does not rise to the
level of a Recall.

Now, if only you could teach your service writers what they were and how to look for them.

I know it is ventilated seat not the cool seats but it seems there are still a lot of people who are not satisfied with this option.

Actually, I heard a lot of Lexus owners in South Korea are planning to sue Lexus for this problem. Lexus actually recalled some models but are still not accepting it’s their defect.

An expert diagnosed with a thermometer these are not cool/ventilated seats because there was a not temperature change (Video clips are attracted with English subtitles)

Hyundai genesis model, which is not even premium brand, has better ventilated seats.

Does anybody have this problem in this Forum?

Here is the video clip (English subtitle)

Thanks. Video not available for me.

If it doesn't do much during a really hot season then there is no point of paying extra to get this feature in the first place.
I agree 100%.
Lexus ES350, Hyundai Palisade, Subaru Outback all work way better. The seats actually get cold. You have to turn them down after 20 minutes. At least I do as it gets too cold. In the Palisade there is an AC duct blowing air directly into the seat.

It's very hit or miss on my IS300 ventilated seats, I even installed those 3D printed snorkels for the A/C vent under the seat to blow directly into the seat fan they definitely made the seats get colder fast.
Honestly, my ventilated seats sometimes blow strong and sometimes it feels faint.

It seems they only work in the setting where you blow air only to the upper body and even then it’s hit or miss. This is on the 2016 ES 350

My 2018 ES (had a 2016) the seats work well and consistently. It gets hot where I am, 100+ for days in the summer.

Our 2014 IS seats were louder but did not put out as much air.

I do wonder how the materials will fair as the car ages. I assume there are perforations in the foam that allow the air to pass through.

I probably have a problem then. My car has all sorts of problems - AC blowing inconsistent temperatures on same settings, different temperatures blowing in the back compared to the front.. I can go on.

Mine essentially just make noise. On our Porsche Macan, on level 3 they get so cold you need to turn them down after 5 minutes.

On my 2014 there are HVAC outlets from under the console that blow under the two front seats. (You'll have to move the seats full forward and crouch down in the back with a flashlight to see them). From this "plenum" under each seat, both the seat pan fan and the seat back fan (there are two fans in each seat), draw air and blow it through the seat perforations. Note that air from those underseat HVAC outlets ONLY blows when the HVAC selector is in the "Foot", "Foot + Face", or "Foot plus Windshield" positions; no air flows when the selector is in the "Face" or "Windshield" positions only. Thus, the temperature of the air through the seats is governed by both the HVAC selector and the A/C temperature settings. Otherwise the seat fans will only blow air at "whatever" the cabin temperature is under the two front seats. On the back of the front seats you will see a "bump" which covers a tunnel up the seatback; this is where the seat back fan draws it's air through from under the seat.
These shots were taken of the driver seat while getting a leather repair done shortly after buying the car.
