ES 350 First impressions and question

No need to hit cancel to accelerate. Once you let off it will resume where you set it.

correct - I agree. no need to cancel in these situations necessarily.
If you have to brake, can just brake. Then when ready to accelerate again, just briefly lift the cruise level up and it will speed back up to your set speed (Unless you dropped below about 25MPH then I think you need to use to gas to speed back up to above 25MPH before you can resume.
If you want to accelerate while in cruise. Just accelerate as Mike mentioned.
Also, if you just want to adjust speed to match a car in front, can press and hold the cruise lever and the set speed will increase if you are pressing up, decrease if you are pressing down. On the 6th Gen, this seems to work remarkably well compared to my old 4th gen where it was very delayed in response.
This is all stuff that can be done without having the dynamic radar cruise control.

It seems to be a trend with most of the new cars. Along with tightening the suspension, because they believe the customer wants to
'feel the road'. Apparently they may have even done that with the ES 350. I think if that's carried too far, that would wreck the driving
experience for me. I was specifically seeking a car that would be smooth over bumps: I do not want to 'feel the road'.
JackM, one thing I noticed was Parking Assist saved my bacon a couple of times when pulling forward. But if the object is too low then it
may be at times the cameras/sensors the PA is using won't pick it up. You can't totally rely on it.

I agree I do not want to feel the road and they are making less and less cars that fit the plush easy ride that I like.My previous vehicle was a 2013 BMW 535 it was too small for me and it felt every bump but I must say the handling and the fit and finish was top notch.
