I don't use a holder in the car but was in Costco today and saw a holder from this company. Here's a link:

So did you ever find a holder? I'm looking to.

I don't have Costco nearby, so I don't know what the other guy saw. I got mine from the company

would be very much like to know how you can have DIY on steering wheel? Here is my DIY on dash and vent:

PS: is steering wheel way a problem when airbag exploded?

I'd imagine you could use one of those cell phone stand rings and then tie it onto the wheel. People are pretty crafty...

Smile Got a cd mount that seems to work

I've read the threads and looked at a lot of cd mounts on amazon. I didn't want to install something on the vents. nor do I want to put a magnet on the dash or on my cell phone. This is the one that I just bought and it seems to fit and hold my S7 well enough. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just installed it tonight and will give it a full day test tomorrow and a long drive to Reno this weekend to find out if the mount stays in place.

CD drives are pretty flimsy, not designed for vertical force (S7 is pretty heavy). Be careful if you still want to use your CD.

Default Works well

I have a long commute and the phone holder worked well. The phone is in a Kate Spade case and it fits snugly in the clamps. There was no jiggling that I could see. I don't use the cd player as it only plays mp3s and I use a 128gb usb. In warmer months I may choose not to leave the holder in the cd slot, but the weather is so mild in the Bay Area, it shouldn't be a problem.
