totally fine so far. I imagine with more wear something like that will wane. I was going to get the P7+ after these just because that's the two I narrowed my search down to, but If I dont run into problems with these I will just re up on the DWS

Hi all. I am looking for tire advice, but have a little different criteria than normal. I am going to be selling my 2017 ES 350 soon, and it needs tires. So, I am looking for the best name-brand tires to put on it, that will showcase the ride/handling, but I am only willing to spend up to $500 total for the install. Normally, I would go to Discount Tire, since I really like them, but may go to NTB or someone else (suggestions?), since they can be cheaper to do the install (I don't want road hazard warranty etc).

What do y'all suggest?

Check out Tirerack.com tire reviews/ratings and find the best tire you can to meet your budget.

I had a set of Kumho TA71 installed in my Avalon before I sold it. They were decent tires at that price point. Anyway, $500 out of door for 4 name brand tires is gonna be a challenge.

^^^^ Well, the TA71s are $500.79 installed at discount tire, so a good candidate. I can save another $20 at Walmart. Thanks.

That’s not a bad deal.

I'd really like a softer ride. Maybe I could sell the old tires to someone, or back to the dealer?
Because you are interested in learning about tires be very careful about the exact name of the tires when comparing/shopping. Such as: a single letter difference or the word Plus in the name will often be very different tires from each other.

For anyone who wants to get the Michelin premier a/s be aware that they will not last 60k miles, more like 25-30k. They are a very good tire but i've had multiple sets and they end up being replaced rather quickly. The tire place gives me partial credit towards a new set, it looks like the softer rubber paired with low starting tread makes them wear a lot.

That chart pulls up 17” wheel for some reason. If you change dia. to 18” you get a different result.

yes, since I didn’t know the wheel size, I put in 17. Yes, you get a different result because the reviews are based on specific sizes that each reviewer has on their car, therefore a different group of reviewers for each size. But you’ll still get a good idea of what tires are better than others.

And yes, theres a number of higher rated tires than the TA71 for similar $$.

I always figured it was because the manufacturer did not offer that particular size but no matter. In the end as you say it still sets a reasonable expectation for the customer. I was thinking that a 225 45 x 17 would have a smaller dia. than the oem so might get different reviews. Personally I’m thinking of the CrossClimate 215 55 x 17 at my next changeout.

This year I am going to upgrade my tires. When I bought the car the previous owner had put Vogue brand tires on the car. I don't like the ride quality at all. Does anyone know the brand?? I have never heard of the brand until I bought my car.

I think I will go Continental Pure Contact LS. I had general Altimax on my Kia optima and those were a good tire for the price.

Hi all. I decided that I cannot put a decent name-brand set on for $500, and if something goes wrong with my sell plan and I end up driving the car for awhile, I should put a decent set on the car (and it might help the selling price). So, I ended up getting a set of Pirelli P7+ from tirerack (which had a close-out). Installed total should be about $550. Not a bad price, I think. Thanks for the advice.
