I also found the cruise control stuff a bit tedious to use.
A curious thing: the car seems to always want to default to 'gps mode'. That is, when I turn it on it always gives me that screen that shows a map and your
current position, street names, etc. You always have to manually change it if you want to see the radio settings for example.

After almost 3 weeks with the new 2017 ES, I just noticed another subtle, but welcome, change that Lexus has made to the ES at some point since my 2013 ES was built.
With the 2013 ES (and other previously owned Lexus vehicles), I always thought that the auto headlights did not, even when set to the highest sensitivity, come on nearly as soon as they should have come on as daylight started to change into darkness. Today, I was driving during the late afternoon, and, as I was thinking that it was about time to turn the headlights, I noticed that the auto headlight feature had already turned the headlights on. I'm not sure whether the change in sensitivity of the auto headlights was just made with the 2017 model or if it was made in some other model year after 2013, but it is a change that I'm very pleased that Lexus decided to make.

Yes, I know that, but, with my 2013 ES, even with the the auto headlights set to the most sensitive setting (as I said in my previous post), they did not come on nearly as soon as they should have come on as daylight faded. With the 2017, I still have them set for the most sensitive setting, but, they come on right when it would be appropriate for them to come on.
