Default 5 blink turn signal

Hello - I've seen the videos for the GS trick to set the lane change turn signal from 3 blinks to 5 or 7. is doesn't seem to work on my ES. Is there another way? Would the dealer do it free of charge? Thanks

It is one of the "dealer only" personalized settings. If your car is new, you can bring the car to the dealer and get those settings changed without charge one time. Usually it would be done at the time of the 5000 mile service. After the first time, the dealer will charge you to make any changes.

You can also do it yourself if you buy the Carista smart phone app (and OBD II adapter) or if you have TechStream software installed on an old laptop. There have been a number of threads with information about both of these options.

I like longer "blink duration" during lane changes for safety reasons, so I had my dealer set mine to seven blinks during our 5K mile service...works well now.

Made me look it up. In 2016 the options allowed Off, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Maybe I'll trade mine in. I really think 7 is too long and 5 is not long enough...

You guys should have gotten the ultra luxury package. It adds options for 8 and 9 blinks. Obviously the more blinks the better. I hear on 7ES it can go up to 12!!! I am seriously thinking about trading in during the december-to-remember event but only if I confirm the 12 blink option.

You might as well tape the indicator stalk down and be done with it. Infinite blinks 😋
Anyway, I used Carista to change my 6ES settings to 7 blinks. It's $10 for a week.
