CDs can fit standing up?

Default Nope. The unit is about 2" deep...

Default My previous car, a 2011 BMW 335i, had a hard drive...

...that allowed you to save CDs to it. I probably had 100 or so loaded on that drive, a feature I really miss since buying my ES 350.

That being said, why don't you buy a USB thumb drive with lots of space (100+ gigs) and load a ton of songs on it, then pop it in the USB drive in your car and listen to your heart's content?

I use a program called Exact Audio Copy that will reduce the size of the song file (WAV) by converting it to a lossless file, meaning it won't degrade the sound quality. I do this for my CD player when I have a bunch of friends over. My Oppo had a USB port so I just pop in the thumb drive and let the songs play.

Hey, I like all that stuff too and likely am the same demographic as you are....but I put most stuff on a USB drive these days..gives a lot of choice when on a long drive without switching CD's etc.

I don't believe the colors are adjustable. You would most likely need to replace the LEDs with the color you are wanting.

One more hard to find feature on ES300h only - Hill Start Assist. The below excerpt is from the user manual (page 308 in MY2014):

4-5. Using the driving support systems

Hill-start assist control (hybrid vehicles)

Assists with starting off and temporarily maintains braking power even if the foot is removed from the brake pedal when starting off on an incline or a slippery slope.

To engage hill-start assist control, further depress the brake pedal when the vehicle is stopped completely.

A buzzer will sound once to indicate the system is activated. The slip indicator will also start flashing.

The power folding mirrors are not installed on the US ES cars. From above - (req. power folding mirrors). As you see, the term req. is there, meaning required. I believe some other countries have them along with headlight washers but not here in the USA.

If you are talking about the cost of using the Carista app, a year or so Carista changed to a subscription policy. A one week subscription now costs $9.99, and a one year subscription costs $39.99. If you buy the OBDII adapter from them, you get a one month free trial subscription, but, after that month, you do need to pay to use the app to change vehicle settings.

Or, you can buy an OBD2 unit from Amazon for between about $15.00 to $99.00 and pay once. No further subscription costs and change your preferences anytime and as many times as you wish.

But, you still need software to make the changes, either the app on your phone or something like Techstream on your PC.
