And if you have Carista (or similar diagnostic software), it's easily configurable to something other.

Correct, but since you get it done for free on your first visit, it's a no brainer.

Did the same. Three is way to short.

Which many of those learning about this option just now in this thread are well beyond that first visit.
I'm curious to know if others have been to the dealer since and were charged $$$ to make a change such as this

Me? I just bought the Carista and did it myself. Came in handy on my wife's car (Prius V) to disable the annoying reverse beeping as well, so worth it.

If I did not have that I would ask the dealer to do it for free at my next service visit to the dealership. They charge so much for everything it would be good PR to do it for free considering it takes almost no time at all.

You have a lousy dealer. We have had 6 Lexus vehicles and they replace the battery at no charge once a year while doing routine maintenance.

dose anyone know of a way to make the auto wipers more sensitive to come on sooner than just the settings on the wiper stock? This is our first Lexus and it is slower than any car we ever owned in this department.

You may want to increase the sensitivity.

Yes I mainly drive in town and even on the highest setting for auto it is very, very, very slow to come on especially after you first start the car. More so than any car I have ever owned.

Do you have a replacement windshield? If so, it may be that the sensor has been improperly mounted. Check the marking on the windshield and see if it is identified as "Lexus" or some other. I do find on my '14 that the first wipe on mist or light rain is a bit slow to activate but after that it is ok. I do have a replacement windshield.

No bought the car new with almost no miles on it. That is the big problem it is so very slow to even get activated.

Try giving the wiper stalk a bit of a flick when you first start seeing moisture on the windshield. Might be OK after that.

I was of the same opinion then someone made the same suggestion as Tootsall, and after giving that a try I have been happy with the sensitivity.

Yes,that is what I normally do I just think since I have owned other cars with this feature that work much better that Lexus should have done better with this feature.Although other than that it has been a great car,so far.

Yes, the intermittent wiper thing is a PITA. Just returned from a 300 km trip in the rain. It never assumes the correct interval, adjusting to the current conditions only last for a short while. Then readjust, and it can’t keep up, or goes too fast.

Great concept, but give me the non sensing intermittent system anytime.
