Default 2013 es 350 check engine light

My check engine light and TRAC OFF error came on at the same time. What does this mean?

When the check engine light turns on, it typically will also turn on the TRAC OFF and/or other lights.

When the check engine light does come on, there are dozens of possible causes. The only way to know for sure what the cause is would be to hook up a code scanner to the car's OBD2 port (which is just below the dash on the left side) and to have it read any fault codes that had been generated. You could go to a dealer or any mechanic and have them scan for codes. Alternatively, most auto parts stores have scanners that they will let customers use without any charge to the customer.

If you do borrow a scanner, you can write down the codes that it produces. Then, you can do a quick Google search, which will give you information about what those codes mean.

A common cause of the check engine light going on can be something as simple as not tightening down the gas cap properly after refueling or a faulty gas cap.

If you do use a code scanner, after writing down the codes that it showed, you can use it to clear the codes, and, after doing so, the check engine light will turn off. If the cause was something simple like not properly tightening the gas cap, the check engine light will not come back on. If something more serious was the cause, the check engine light will come back on, probably after a few dozen miles of driving.

Hi. I am interested to know if you figured out the trouble code and what it was. Would you mind sharing?
Thanks

I just had this happened to me in the morning . Both my Check Engine light went on ( not blinking) and my VSC Trac was off. As I pulled out of my parking spot when the transmission went into second gear I felt a knock. I drove a mile to the Pep Boys and they are changing defective Oxygen sensors right now. The Codes did not say misfiring. I am worried about the transmission. Can bad Oxygen sensor cause transmission gear issues?

Highly unlikely bad oxygen sensors would cause a transmission problem.
What codes besides the O2 sensor did the car have?
More vehicle info would be helpful - year, model, miles, prev repairs, etc.

If your allowing Pep-Boys to install sensors on your LEXUS, you may always be chasing an issue....

These cars truly prefer OE sensors, or more often than not your asking for issues.
