Default New owner . . . 17 UL.

Greetings!

I ventured into SUVs for a stint but now I'm happy to be a Lexus sedan owner once again! Today I purchased a '17 UL. It's an amazing car. I took advantage of special Lexus incentives that last until Wed., 05 July. I bought the car in a neighboring state (there were none in my state). The 200-mile drive back was great. The ES is smooth, powerful, and incredibly fuel-efficient. I chose Nebula Gray Pearl with the Stratus Gray interior. I've attached some photos.

Congrats on the new car. That is a great color and of course, a terrific car. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I had a trade involved so that complicates matters a bit. But here's how things unfolded yesterday.

Fortunately I was in a city with 5 Lexus dealerships so I used that to my advantage. I sent an email to the internet manager at store #1 expressing interest in a UL. (I'd bought 2 used vehicles from this store before). She replied back with a figure of $41,064 before TTL. That was unbelievable. I saw the same car at store #2. I contacted a salesperson that I'd bought from there and told him that I would drop by. To cut to the chase, the sales manager at store #2 dragged his feet, mainly because of the value of my trade. But he said, "If you get a good offer from another store, let me know." So I drove back to store #1 planning to deal but they low-balled my trade. I negotiated a decent deal but before continuing gave store #2 a chance to beat it. Store #2 offered $1K more in trade difference. The sales manager at store #1 was unwilling to budge so I drove to store #2 ready to proceed. As things progressed there the sales manager at store #1 reconsidered and offered me $500 more than store #2's best offer. Store #2 matched that offer so I stayed there and finished the deal. Ultimately I got the car for $3k less than store #1's initial offer.

HA! Good job with the negotiations. Just goes to show that with a little knowledge and perseverance you can save big bucks and get what you want.

Hi, new to the Club and looking to purchase a 2017 in 30-60 days. Waiting to see what the new incentives will be after the holiday.
We're hoping to get a UL. Would you mind sharing the final two dealers you negotiated with? I'm in the Midwest and willing to travel for a good deal.
And, congrats! Beautiful car!

PM sent.

I'll mention that now is an excellent time to buy a sedan since SUVs and crossovers are so popular. The car I bought was actually on a "back lot" loaded with Lexus sedans (including 3 other ES ULs).

I'm in the Chicagoland area and I've heard that deals aren't that great around here. But, still hoping
to get a good one! Most of the dealers around here have a lot of ES350's on their lots.
One I just checked today had 89! Several were UL's.
Thanks for the PM by the way.
