We have the 2017 ES350 and it now seem to display the back bumper when backing up. This car is my wife car and she tells me that she has never seen the bumper before when backing up. Is an adjustment for the camera so that you can move the camera up not to see the bumper
Any info is appreciated

Does she see just the bumper or a small portion of it.? My 2013 and 2015 see just a little bit of the bumper at the bottom of the screen, I assume that is so you have a reference point.
You do see a large image of the bumper at the bottom of the screen. I have not really driven the car very much since we recently purchased it. She tells me she has never seen this large bumper image. I did examine the trunk lid and nothing seems to be damage. The Camera is securely in place. I guess we will have to check with the dealer as see what they tell me.

If I remember, next time I am in the car I will take a snapshot of it and post it here if no one gets to it before me.
I took a picture of the backup camera image, does this look like what you see with your car?
That is pretty much identical to the camera view that I have with my 2017 ES, and, if my memory is correct, it is also the same as what I had on the 2013 ES that I previously owned.
this is very typical for the super wide angle lens they have to use in order to see movement at the edges.
That is an accurate explanation of why the view is the way it is.
The lens on the backup camera is an ultra wide or fisheye lens. If the lens is going to yield the desired very wide field of view horizontally, it also will have a very wide field of view vertically, which is why the field of view includes the bumper. Another characteristic of an ultra wide lens is distortion near the edges of the field of view, and that is why you see the curvature in the area of the bumper and license plate.
