Also, Mobil runs this rebate a couples times a year (Spring and Fall), so the purchase can be timed so that there won't be much extra oil sitting around.

Just received by two $12 checks for the five quart jugs of Mobil 1 bought at Walmart for $22. Net for five quarts $10.

Rebate status site shows 24 bucks mailed - this is such a great deal. I've got enough oil on hand now for a year's worth of oil changes for both our ES and Accord (the Accord gets 3 changes a year).

How are you getting these through when Wal-Mart is not listed as a participating dealer?
I was think of buying at Costco since they have a $10 off deal, but they are not listed either.

The list is not an all inclusive list - I've received $96 in rebates so far - all 5 quart jugs purchased at Walmart.

Thanks for the heads up on the rebate. Saw this sometime back and submitted my rebate.. just got the 12 dollar check Monday... Love the rebates but I sure wish my walmart would sell it for 22 bucks for a 5 quart bottle... everytime I buy it it's closer to 26 bucks a bottle... oh, also got a 15 dollar check a couple of months back for a rebate for both the mobil 1 oil and ep filter... again, thanks for letting us know.

When I purchased it at Walmart, it was around $22 a for a 5 quart jug. Way cheaper than what auto parts stores want.
I remember they had different types of Mobil 1 synthetic at different prices, like extended performance, high mileage, etc. I believe the extended interval was more money, but I just purchased the "high mileage" at $22.
I don't over think oil too much. I basically only use synthetic Mobil 1, use an OEM filter, and change it like every 8,000 or so miles. Anything beyond that seems like spinning your wheels, jmo.
