I don't know. I think it would depend on the good will of the dealership, but, if the dealer does not seem to be cooperative, I would certainly pursue the issue Lexus corporate. Also, I think that you should be able to make the case that the CPO warranty is still in effect.

Wow, this bulletin seems to apply to the VIN for the one I just got my parents as well. Will tell them to bring it in next time they get their service.
Too bad Lexus can’t just automatically identify, contact the owners, and fix these things. With my experience, I’ll probably end up paying an exorbitant repair bill and the dealer won’t even mention the bulletin.

My VIN is also within the replacement gateway range. However the battery is over 5 years old and I've never had an issue with that or anything else... Just luck of the draw...

So here's my question. My vehicles VIN is lower which means it falls within the range of the TSB... However, I have never experienced any battery issues and I am coming up on the 4 year anniversary of when I bought the car. My 48 month warranty will expire on Jan. 9, 2018. Even though I've never had battery issues should I still take it in or not worry about it. I"m planning on putting in a new battery in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

For the vehicles being driven every 3 to 5 days it will not be obvious. However those who travel for example or have multiple vehicles, this will be evident upon sitting for two weeks.
I have the tools to measure the current draw while off. I could do this and do the math on the battery output but it would be be best if we had a Fixed or known repaired vehicle and a known bad vehicle to compare to.
In short with the engine off the ideal situation would be a current draw of say 0.0001 Amps or 1 micro amp. But that is likely not the case.
And if any 2IS 3IS owners find this, it applies to our car too.

Not entirely true. Mine was driven almost everyday, since purchase, until about March 2014. It sat 5 days in my garage and wouldn't start. Up until the TSB was applied, if I didn't leave a trickle charger hooked up, it would be hit or miss after 3 days of sitting.
