Dealer offered me a Lexus unlimited mile Platinum extended warranty. Is it legit?
Hello,
I just purchased a 2016 CPO ES 350, and was told by the dealer that they offered a Lexus unlimited mileage Platinum extended warranty.
I immediately called them out on it as a bunch of BS, but they gave me a form which seems to suggest it's true.
I've attached the warranty form (in case someone wanted to look at it).
I was just wondering if this was indeed the real thing or just a bunch of BS, as I've never heard of Lexus offering unlimited mileage warranties (other than 2 year CPO warranty).
Thanks,
D.B.

Here's a paragraph from Lexus.com page explaining their CPO warranty:
Lexus confidently stands behind these exceptional vehicles with the L/Certified Limited Warranty,5* when combined with the new-vehicle Basic Warranty, can provide up to six years of vehicle warranty coverage. Mileage is unlimited. The L/Certified Limited Warranty offers many of the coverage benefits and privileges new-car buyers receive. To find out what is and isn't covered, see below or visit your Lexus dealer for complete details.

I get that about the CPO warranty.
My question has to do with the extensions the dealer is offering.
It looks like from the PDF attached, that the dealer is actually offering a 5 year extension on the CPO warranty. So instead of 2 miles unlimited miles, we're talking about 2 + 5 = 7 year unlimited miles extension on top of the basic warranty (for which I have about 1.5 or so years left).
If that's indeed the case, that's nearly a 8.5 unlimited mileage warranty, which could come in very handy (if true - that is).
Thanks,
B.D.

I bought it
I have this warranty and bought it when I bought the car a year ago. I too drive 30-35,000 miles per year and was very forthcoming with the dealer. Asking what the warranty covered and what it did not. I also asked about the required maintenance to keep the warranty active (as I prefer to have work done away from the dealer). It cost ~$3,000 and would be in place for six years from the point of sale. I was on the fence as I could just bank the $3,500 and have it if needed and if I don't need it, use it on something else. In the end, I decided to buy the warranty. The tipping point was that I was able to secure a six year loan at .9% (free money) and wrap the $3,000 in to the financing. Now, I am confident that I will have the car for the full six years and am not afraid to pound miles on it as I will be protected from any serious issues. My biggest fear was at 200,000 miles the engine would go and I would be making payments on a car that didn't run... Like all insurance policies, it is a complete waste of money, unless it is used. In my case, I hope everything needs to be replaced two weeks before the warranty expires and I can get another 10 years out of her!
I hope that helps.
I hope that helps.

I've been told the ES350's are bullet proof.....and as long as I keep it serviced, I shouldn't have any problems for a long long time.....and that came from a service manager in Atlanta. These cars are the best Toyota offers, so they are made to last. The Steelerships want you
to come in every 5K so they can pay the mechanics, and rob you at the same time.
