I have the bottom screen set but now for some strange reason the top one opens. I tried removing it all and starting over but no go. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I don't know what year your ES is, and the settings vary a bit depending on the model year, but, if you go into the display settings, you will find a setting that allows you to choose whether the display screen is a full screen display, divided into 2 parts, or divided into 3 parts, and it also allows you to choose what information will be the default information that is displayed.

Click on the map side and you will get full screen map. If you press the "home" button by the mouse it will revert to this split screen. The "home" screen can only be 2 or 3 screens, not a single one.

You actually have two issues going on. On your full nav screen you have the compass turned on so it appears split also. If you hit , options, then map mode you can turn the compass off and truly have the full screen as your map/nav view. That screen opens every time you start the car.
Then when hen you hit the home button, you will have your three pane view. If you are like me and prefer the three pane view, you must hit the home button every time you turn the car on.
