Default dash "color" display

Hey guys, this is not an issue but it is something I've been meaning to ask you guys about for months but just kept forgetting to do so... So anyway, you are all familiar with how you can put your ES ( mine is a 2013 ) in Eco, Normal or Sport... In sport mode the color display in the instrument panel turns red.. ( not sure what color comes up in Eco ) and in Normal, the light display is blue.. I have always been curious as to why the blue light seems to fade or dim when you are accelerating and then returns to a "brighter" blue when you level off your speed... in sport mode, the red color doesn't seem to fade at all... Just curious if anyone else has noticed this and why this is... as always, appreciate your thoughts...

The blue light corresponds with the amount of throttle you give it. Let off on the gas and the darker the blue gets. It acts like an economy monitor.

It is just a visual on fuel consumption. Red meaning more power, more fuel consumption. Blue, well who knows why blue, perhaps a calming effect.

The blue light (or its absence) is an indication of whether or not you are driving in an eco-friendly manner.

If you are accelerating in a relatively gentle manner and if your driving done in an eco-friendly manner, the blue light will remain on virtually all of the time. When you accelerate more aggressively and if your driving is not always done in an eco-friendly manner, the blue light will fade in and out.

This is explained on page 97 of the 2013 ES manual.
