Default Valve stem TPS - 2013 ES350

I have a new tire with a slow leak and I suspect a bad valve/TPMS assembly. Do I need a replacement from Lexus/Toyota or will a generic assembly from the tire dealer work with the car's TPMS monitoring system?

Thanks -

You can use an aftermarket sensor valve (about $50.00 at Tire Rack) or just a regular valve (about $5.00) that doesn't send a signal. You require a direct vs. indirect sensor and it must be at 315mhz. I just went through this whole process with my Corvette and new tires.

FYI - There is a comprehensive explanation on TPMS on the Tire Rack web site.
