2004 Lexus SC430 160,000 Miles
Sometime during or after I apply the brakes, I get an intermittent high pitch chirping noise. It is not all the time but only happens when I press the brakes or even after I have taken my foot off the brakes. Normally it seems to happen at slower speeds. It will be either 1 or 2 chirps.

Most vehicles arre built with a sensor device in the brakes that provide a squeal when the front brake pad level gets low. I would think this may be what you are hearing. If you have not had your front pads replaced in recent years start here.

Should sound like a scraping squealing sound as its a thin piece of metal that scrapes the disc when the disc brakes are worn thin... Virtually all cars have this on their disc brakes as a reminder. Good call Fillykonk...

Well, I just replaced the brakes and I still get this random chirping noise that seems to be associated with a braking event. But the brakes do not have to be depressed at the time for the noise to happen nor does the car need to be moving. The brakes just have to have been depressed near the time this occurs. It makes me think it could be the pump for the brake fluid. Any other ideas?

You should probably bring this up in the SC forum: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...-2001-2010-63/
Good luck!
