Remote start confusion
Hi there,
my 2018 ES350 has remote start and I’ve been able to activate it by pressing the lock button three times on the key remote.
However, as soon as I open any door of the car or the trunk, the engine turns off - is this the intended functionality? Am I doing something wrong?

Still surprised about the functionality- seems strange that it shuts off as soon as I want to enter the car, just to start it again!

It is a anti-theft/safety feature

Seems to be related to the start up/boot up of the cars electronics.
When we remote start with either the phone or the fob the fob is
not present inside the car. Many but not all features fire up including
of course the engine and HVAC system (fan on high). When we are
compelled to restart once we and the key enter the car it can now
(re)start and boot every system fully.

Just as an FYI, it also shuts down automatically at ten minutes.
