tires
#18
All tires get louder as they get older. Last year I replaced a set of P7s on my 15 LS with about 38k on them with a set of new P7s, the new P7s were considerably quieter, but the old ones weren't so loud that I thought they were loud without comparing them to a new set.

I would go with Michelin Premier A/S. They maintain their grip as they wear by opening new grooves while still providing steering response and handling in dry conditions by exposing new rubber in 2nd and 4th circumferential tire block. This mechanism allows it to maintain about 30% of empty space for water evacuation as tire wears down. Go with V-rated or higher for good handling. They start at 8.5/32 tread, but you will get beyond 60k miles (warranty is 60k miles/6 years).
