2013 ES 350, So Cal, 38,000 miles, garage at home, outside parking at work. Lately when starting the engine, the telescoping mechanism of the steering wheel emits a high-pitched squeal for 2-3 second. Mostly happens when car is outside in hotter weather, not so much when temps are cool. If I just drive a short distance, stop and start again, it rarely happens the second time. Seems like something needs a shot of WD40, but I am not sure that is the wisest option. Anyone else encounter this? Don’t want to get ripped off at the Dealership, but don’t want to let a minor issue turn into a major problem.

Same thing happens to my car. I took it to the dealer while under warranty but they could not duplicate the issue. Now the car is out of warranty and the noise is still present. I made a post showing the problem.
