Es 350 - 2015
I found a beautiful ES 350 online with 6,600 miles on it from Palm Beach, FL in May 2015. It was a 3-year lease and I had it trucked to Denver. I took it to the local Lexus dealer for an inspection and they found water drops in the right tail light lens, which they ordered a new part and replaced it under warranty.
2 things - 1. It doesn't have GPS but it has a traffic app which shows where my car is on the road and traffic conditions. Since it knows where I am anyway, can I update the car with OEM GPS?
2. I believe it has the original battery, it says Toyota on it, which I assume has been in the car since new. Coming from the heat of South Florida do you suggest I have it replaced before winter hits Colorado? It checks out ok when tested.
The car is absolutely perfect with not a scratch or bump on it. I put on a trunk spoiler which really helps the lines of the car. It also came with hand-painted pinstripes which I hear is standard in Florida and AZ.
I am having discussions with my Lexus service manager about maintenance and he said I should do the updates based on the age of the car and not on the fact it has less than 7,000 miles. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nolan.. first off, congratulations on finding an ES with less than 7K on it... that's quite a find.. as far as updaing the car with oem gps, I don't think you can.. but I don't know for sure...You could just go buy a Garmin gps with live time maps... I did that for my 4 Runner and 2 or 3 times a year I hook it up to the computer and update the maps for free from Garmin's website.. Just something to think about. as far as the battery goes, I change my car battery out every 4 years, whether they're testing okay or not. Today's batteries don't usually give you an indication they're going to die on you.. I have a 2013 ES 350 and battery size is 24F. I would assume it is the same on the 2015 models but you need to check to be sure. If I were you I would not buy a battery at the dealership. My dealership told me a new battery was around 300 bucks.. Instead I put in an Interstate MTP-24F ( megatron plus ). and it cost me around $120.00... $180 bucks cheaper than the dealership quoted me. It has 800 Cold cranking amps and 1000 cranking amps, way more power than is in the oem battery that comes with the car.. I would think the extra power in that battery would come in handy on those cold Colorado mornings.. You obviously don't have to go with Interstate.. It's just the battery that I've been using in my ES and my Toyota 4 Runner and not once has it let me down. But there are lots of good batterys out there... Enjoy your new ES.

Get the side moldings to both protect the doors from dings and to also add a little character to the blank sides. They are available from Lexus and will be color matched perfectly to you car. They only cost about $150. Four parts, front/rear for both sides. No drilling necessary they have tape strips.

Nolan, I agree with Pab12.. the body side moldings do help to some degree. as far as how they look, some llike em, some dont. I think they look good on my car.

I love this color - Satin Cashmere
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. The body side moldings is a great suggestion. I will definitely do this!
