Default Mark Levinson depreciation

On kbb.com I looked at a handful of alternatives for value of a 2013-5 ES with 25-40k miles, both 350 and 300h. In each case adding Mark Levinson audio, and nothing else, increased the value from $1,000-$1,500. Do you think that this is how it actually plays out? I wouldn’t have been surprised to see no increase at all.

Looking at used car ads is problematic since they show what the seller wants, not what he gets.

I have the ML audio, frankly i don't hear exceptional sound from it, good, but not great. Cant imagine someone in the used market paying a big premium for it.

I can't speak for depreciation and all that, but all I can say is that my Luxury edition sound system sounds great.

All things depreciate. The higher the initial cost, the higher it can depreciate. I have the ML and am very satisfied. However, if your majority of music comes from XM, don't bother. The better the system, the more the source is the weak link. XM's compression is some of the worst there is.

I’ve never had XM so doubt I’ll use it but who knows? What’s the best source?

Ordered my ML and can’t wait to hear it.

The few times I bought a used car , all I cared about was the conditon, mileage and what the body looked like(no dings, accidents etc).

What was inside in terms of sound system, and other doo-dads was not a big concern. It they were there, great, if not, well, it's a used car. Who cares?

I was looking at CPO’s for depreciation info (curiosity really) - we’re getting new. I’m replacing a 17 year old heap and wanting a bell and whistle or three!
