Hi I drive a 2014 Lexus ES 350 with 60,000 miles and the car remote does not work, door just beeps and flashes, have to use key to enter, this sucks.....I can open any other door fine only drivers door not opening, I hear sound like unlocks but nothing happens, just flashes more when I pull handle. anyone know anything about this, I'm not impressed with all the bells and whistle when they don't work, anyone know anything I'd gladly appreciate

I'll just take a shot in the dark here, but have you tried changing the battery in your keyfob...or if you have a 2nd keyfob have you tried using it? I know awhile back I had just parked my car in a hotel parking lot... when I tried to lock the door, it would automatically unlock.. Next day I stopped at a wal greens and picked up another battery... worked fine ever since. Just a suggestion. If you have a 2nd keyfob I would try that before buying another battery.

It's somewhat of a common Lexus issue. It seems that your door lock actuator is bad.

If other doors are opening and you are hearing a click it's not the fob battery. Sounds like, as Mike states, it's the door actuator malfunctioning. An expensive fix...

I suspect that Mike and Bob are correct in assessing the situation.

It also could be the fuse for the door actuator. I have seen this before on a 2011 mercury.

for a relatively new car how can something like that go bad. How expensive is it?

I agree with the other posts. It looks like you need to replace your door actuator. I had the same issue with my Lexus a few years back. It is a 2013 ES 350. My warranty had expired 2 months prior to the issue, but I called the dealership and they went ahead and replaced the part. I was only charged for labor. But I remember the cost for parts + labor being quite expensive (sorry, can't recall the exact dollar amount). If it's covered under warranty, have the Lexus dealership fix it. Otherwise go to the Toyota dealership or get some quotes from local independent mechanics.

Replying from memory on a previous member post I think the dealer charge was round $800.00 and somewhat less at an independent garage.

I did a little digging and found my invoice when I had my door actuator replaced. The total cost for parts + labor from the Lexus dealership was $450. The Toyota dealership quoted me $400, but I went with Lexus since they honored my warranty and only had me pay for labor ($180).

I have a friend that has a 2011 ES and she has 3 bad actuators. Apparently a pretty common thing....at least for gen 5. I hope it doesn't become a trend for gen 6. Lexus quoted her $1600 for parts and labor. I did some digging around for her and found her a power window repair guy that will charge her $79/door to replace the actuators and will do it at her home. Replacing the actuator is not a big deal.....taking the door apart and getting it back together is for most of us. A power window repair guy should be well versed in taking a door apart and putting it back together. Found her remanufactured Lexus parts on eBay for $80/each for the rear and $50 for the front. Her grand total for parts and labor for 2 rear and 1 front will be $450. BIG difference from $1600 Lexus wanted. I will say that the remanufactured parts have a lifetime warranty (guessing probably not including labor)and she only plans to keep the car another year or so and is not that worried about using remanufactured parts.

Hopefully it doesn't become a norm in the Gen 6; overall, ES is quite relaible
