That's a tough question.
The bigger the cars, the more body cladding/sound dampening, different wheelbase lengths, motor sizes, different suspensions, and weights to the car itself...
So many factors play into your question...

Maybe I'm just getting old but the ride of my new 2018 ES seems a lot firmer than it should. Road bumps and such are transmitted as sharp kicks and makes the ride not so pleasant. My 2006 ES was much softer and pleasant to drive. Some other discussions talk about the larger wheels etc. However, I'l like opinions on 6th gen ES rides.

When I had the stock tires on my 17, it was a pillow. So nice. Now I have summer 19's on and its firmer and more responsive. So the ride comfort drops a tad....

So the ES rides softer than the GS, but the GS feels more solid and composed at speed than the ES, which kind of floats around. The LS is not really softer than the ES, but the car is a lot more solid, composed and feels more refined, overall the ride is much better...especially in LWB cars and with the air suspension.
If we're talking about an LS500, then I would agree the ES is softer, but not compared to an LS460.
I have an ES loaner right now while my LS is in for service, so the comparison is fresh.
