Looking to purchase 2018 ES 350. I saw one with MSRP of $42,590 from my local dealer in VA. How much of discount should I go for or can I get? I’m also aware of the $4000 cash from Lexus. Much info is appreciated!

Some people have gotten as much as 20% off MSRP lately. Shoot for that, if they balk ...head for the door. They well never let you reach the door.

If I was looking to buy a 2018 ES, I, too, would be shooting for the 20% discounts from MSRP that many were reporting a couple of months ago, but I would also be prepared for the possibility that discounts in that range might not be available any longer.

At this point, most dealers have either eliminated their entire inventories of the 2018 ES or, at least, reduced those inventories to very low levels. With very few 2018 ESs still remaining in dealer inventories, I suspect that the dealers who do still have some of them are feeling no need to do heavy discounting because they know that there are enough potential buyers in the market who will be willing to buy a 2018 ES even with a smaller discount. And, with 2019 ESs coming in with typical MSRPs that are around $3000 or more higher than similarly equipped 2018 ESs, the price difference between a 2019 ES and a 2018 ES will be significant enough that some who otherwise would not have considered buying a 2018 ES will consider doing so even without the 20% discounts that were available a few months ago.
