Default Lexus Tire and Wheel Protection

Yesterday the South Bay lexus dealership offered me the Lexus Tire and Wheel Protection, is this warranty worth it? Also does anyone know if it covers curb rash?

trying to see if curb rash is eligible to get wheels replaced under this warranty protection

Please let us know, I have that policy and have bashed up the wheels pretty good...
But regarding curb-rashed wheels, sometime last year someone mentioned Honda touch-up paint that matched the Lexus wheel color. I got some, used it, and found that the wheels came out looking pretty good. Don't remember off hand the precise color, but I recommend it for anyone who needs minor coloring of scratched wheels.

Curb scraped wheels require sanding, smoothing, primering, and painting to be returned to suitable condition. I had two wheels done on my 2013 and the damage could not be seen.
Cost: About $50.00 per wheel.

I would recommend that you pass on the wheel warranty. You don't say what the cost is from the dealer, but the one offered to me was $1000.00. You can find people to do this outside the dealership. My guy came to my home and did it in the driveway... Charged me $40.00 per wheel and I bought him lunch for $20.00...

FYI - The dealer will REPAIR road rash, not replace the entire wheel...

The wheel and tire protection plan is only going to cover, as Bob said, cosmetic repair of minor non-structural damage to wheels, not replacement of the wheels.

The wheel and tire protection plans, like extended warranties, are high profit items for dealerships. While there is a (very small) possibility that you could have covered repairs whose cost exceeds the cost of the policy, the chances of that happening are quite small. If, instead of buying the policy, you put that money into savings designated for such repairs, over the course of ownership of a few vehicles, you are virtually guaranteed to be far ahead.

As Bob said, a good strategy is to get to know the people in your area who do wheel repairs, paintless dent removal, interior repairs, etc. Then, when you have need for such repairs, you can call them directly to have the repair work done. By doing so and by cutting the dealer/middleman out of the process, you will find that you can have such repairs done for a fraction of what the cost would be if you went through the dealer.

I purchased the tire/wheel protection plan when I bought my 2015 ES350 and shortly after taking delivery I had nail through tire that could not be repaired...they replaced no problem.

Tire protection certificates are available from Discount Tire for about $125 for 4 Lexus tires.

I understand the dealer offered wheel protection coverage is pretty good but still not worth the price being charged. The others have given you the best advice - decline and get to know the mobile wheel repair guy.

OK, you got a tire replaced. How much did you pay for the warranty?

thats whats up!!! going to start setting money aside for these random type of repairs, they also had another body protection for dents and dings, but it was for only paint less dent removal, if it was full on body shop access with unlimited dents dings and paint it would be worth it, i would abuse the crap out of it for the whole lifetime!!!
