Default Ventilated seats.

Does hot air also come out of the back portion of the ventilated seats?

My understanding is that it is room temp air. That it is air created by just a fan.

If your question is regarding the seat heaters and not the ventilated seats, the answer is yes. If you truly asking about the ventilation function, that was answered above.

Just to clarify, the seat heaters do not blow air, they warm the seat by radiant heat. The ventilated seats blow air, the temperature of the air is whatever the air temperature is in the cabin.

Thanks. Yes, I was asking about the ventilated seats themselves, not the butt warmers.

A little disappointing to know that it's just whatever air is in the cabin.

When I got the 2018 ES, I tried to get the seats without the ventilation, because my 2013 ES didn't have them. And because I didn't think they would really blow the air temperature that I set on the thermostat (whether hot or cold). And I liked the look of the NuLuxe without them, like my 2013 had. But there wasn't any way to get the seats without the ventilation, not even on a custom order.

The salespeople said they would blow the same temperature set by the thermostat. But I had my doubts.

After getting the 2018 ES, I didn't notice much of a temperature change from the ventilated seats, regardless of how extreme I set the thermostat.

This thread confirms my suspicions.

Some people have made cardboard cut outs too direct air from the back floor vents to the fan that blows air in to the seat. I know that there is old threads on the forum about this.

If you find the performance of the ventilated seats to be disappointing, be happy that you have a 2018 ES and not a 2013-2015 ES with ventilated seats. The amount of air flow that I get from the ventilated seats in my 2017 ES is considerably better than what came from the ventilated seats in the 2013 ES that I previously owned.

As far as the temperature that comes out of the ventilated seats, since the seats are just recirculating air from the cabin, the air that comes out of the seats will not get cooler until enough time has passed for the air throughout the cabin to have gotten cooler.
