My wife has a 2013 ES and when she is NOT using NAV but has the NAV screen showing, everytime we are driving, the screen splits into two and shows us every upcoming exit / street name AND POI's for every upcoming exit (see picture). I have looked every in the settings and the manual but I can not find how to turn this off...the manual calls it "freeway information screen" on page 342 but doesnt give the information on how to alter this. Can anyone provide instructions as to how to turn this OFF? Thanks!
You have to select the Map Mode (in Options off the map screen) while on the freeway. Then click "Map Only" and it will disable the freeway info popups.

That is correct. The important point is that you will only be able to disable the freeway info screen when you are actually seeing the split screen with the entrances and exits displayed on the screen. Otherwise, the option to change the mode will be grayed out.
