Default Service between oil changes

Is it recommended to get your ES serviced between oil changes? Oil changes are recommended every 10,000 miles but the factory service is recommended every 5,000 mikes. If the oil change isn’t due should you still get the service?

The change interval is 10k miles, or 12 months. The "service" inbetween is usually BS, like tire rotations and checks. If you have a local Discount Tire, they will rotate your tires for free. You don't even need to be a prior customer of theirs.

I have never taken our RX or ES in for a 5,000, 15,000 25,000 mile service. It is a tire rotation and a lot of things inspected that IMO do not need inspecting. Paying big bucks for that tire rotation. If our tires are wearing evenly I rotate them every 10,000 miles. Every 10,000 miles the oil needs to be changed and every 30,000 miles the brake fluid. I always ask for just this and never a 10,000 or 30,000 miles service. Again paying for a lot of inspections that are not needed IMO. Once a year I change the air and cabin filter. Buy both on line for a $40 total and takes five minutes to do both.

Thanks for the feedback. Assuming the service light automatically comes on every 5,000 miles?

the only reason to do in-between services is when it's included for free.

i got 4 services or 20k miles as a CPO purchaser. this shall be the only time i ever go for 5k services, let me see what they get done to the car. Honestly i think they just gonna plug in computer to the obd port and rotate tires. Maybe change my wiper blade inserts and top off my washer fluid. But hey, it's free.

edit: oh yeah, i forgot the free car wash! hey, it's free!
