Default Sound proofing my 2013

so like many of you on here, I was slightly disappointed in the stereo in my car. saying that, I have done a cheap improvement that only took me about 3 hours to do and feel like I have tangible results. I bought Peel & Seal Aluminum from Home Depot ( was about $18 for one roll and bought 2 rolls ) to sound proof the car. this stuff is essentially the same as Dynamat but a fraction of the cost. you will need to have an X-acto knife to cut pieces to fit. I did the whole truck and spare tire area, doors, and under the back seat. you could go as far doing under the carpet and head liner but that's way more work that I wanted to get into. I have the none ML system and feel like the radio has better quality with all stock speakers, I'm sure with upgraded speakers it would be ever better but for now I'm good with it. I hope this helps someone out there.

I hope you realize this stuff will emit some nasty smelling fumes when it gets super heated as well it will sag and fall off. Now if you live in an area that doesn't get super hot, you will probably be ok, but I just would not risk using this stuff ever inside a car.

If you are doubting my advice, simply Google this phrase "why you don't use peel and seal in a car" .

yes it smelled for about 2 days after but now the smell is completely gone. its been about 80 degrees here the last week and sunny which means in the trunk is hotter and no issues as of yet...so we will see.

If I were to do this, I think I would use this stuff:
Frost King Duct Wrap.

This guy, in a
, makes it look easy, and says it holds up for years, and no smell.
