siriusxm radio
Just purchased a used 2016 Lexus ES 350 and was just playing around with the car and turned the radio on and turns out the SiriusXM Satellite radio is working. Just curious anyone know why? I bought it from an Acura dealer so I don't believe its on a trial basis or something. I mean I believe its comes free for a few months when you buy a new Lexus but that is not the case here.

dealers get an incentive from xm radio by activating a 3 month trial and giving them (xm radio) your information.
when the 90 day trial is apparoaching it's end, expect a lot of calls from xm radio.
it doesn't matter if it's a lexus dealer or any other dealer. They just register a free 3 month trial using your information.

If you are getting 200+ channels then AlexNY is correct,
If you are getting 40+ channels then there is a Promo Blitz on that everybody gets for a short time.

When they call, you tell them you will cancel. Then they will give you a six month trial period for ~$5/month. After 6 months call them and tell them you will cancel. They will give you another 6 months for ~$5/mo. Keep doing this until you sell the car.

Hmmm, I am supposed to be on my 90-day trial right now, but I only see the 40-ish channels I believe you are referencing.

Just did this on mine, and I continue to do it on my other car as well. Just be willing to cancel if they finally say no.

Yep... and never give them a CC number or they will charge you without your knowledge. I have always paid the extra couple dollars and have them mail me an invoice. Be prepared when you call to speak to someone in India, although my last encounter was a rep. in Santo Domingo that was very nice.
