Hi folks, having a problem with shifting from park into reverse, now it doesn't happen all the time
but maybe 1/30 times, when i shift into reverse there is a loud thunk/crunch noise.
You can hear it outside the car, and also feel it inside the car.
More details about when it happens:
1. Car is parked on a level surface
2. Parking brake is always used when parked
3. The crunching and thunk does not happen EVERY time, only 1/30 times or so (its random)
4. Overall regular driving the gears feel fine
5. The noise and the thump is pretty dramatic so thats why I'm so concerned
Anyone else having a similar issue?

I get a clunk too. I think half of the sound is the doors locking themselves, and the other is some transmission adjustment is probably needed. I will be watching how yours works out.

I would get the transmission checked out. I don't want you to have the same experience I did:

My 2017 (bought brand new) has 14K miles on her. Never have I feel/hear any thunk when Park to Reverse. My wife's 08 RX350 AWD has 132K miles and I have never/ever feel/hear any thunk either.

We have a 2013 with 58k miles and I notice it does make a loud thump when shifting out of P when parked on an incline. What would be the best sequence of setting E-brake/shifting into P/etc for those of you that experienced this? We live where it's fairly flat and the biggest 'inclines' are people's driveways.....
