TPMS Trouble
Hi all. Driving a 2013 ES with 94K. Bought it new. Still in love with the car. A week or so ago the TPMS readout on the dash stopped displaying the tire pressures. Tires are fine and the pressure is correct. I have reset the TPMS system a number of times using the button under the dash. The tire warning light flashes three times as it is supposed to. I have used the reset button with the car ON and with it running and have left it on/running afterwards for the prescribed period of time in both cases. Any suggestions for my next step in troubleshooting this problem? Thanks.

This is a page from my manual. There is another clause on the next page with the same display and a comment about the system not able to locate a position...as would be the case of a bad sensor. It seems to say that any fault will lead to a loss of display on all 4. If this happened to me I would have my local tire shop check all four sensors for a good signal as a first (and cheapest) step.

"---" TPMS reading
If you see dashes on the tpms readout it means the car still reads the pressures just cannot determine which wheel is which.
Most generic tire shops will not be able to diagnose this issue BTW.

As promised, here's what happened. I went to Town Fair Tire in Nashua, NH for help with this problem. I have bought tires there a few times - good guys and good service. They checked the four sensors and found that one was not broadcasting any signal. They replaced it with a universal sensor that their database indicated should be compatible. It did not solve the problem so they ordered the specific sensor from a local Toyota dealer. I went back later in the afternoon and they installed the Toyota sensor (exactly the same part as the Lexus dealer would have had) and that resolved the problem. Total cost was $69.00. Seemed very fair.
