You do what you want as long as the car is off warranty. The scheduled maintenance log calls for it every 30,000 miles up through (and presumably past), 150,000 miles. This is on the 350…the 300H may be different.

For that little amount, I'd pay someone. I have the Toyota dealer handle transmission drain and fills, coolant exchanges, and brake flushes. It's just a PITA to put the car on 4 jack stands to bleed the brakes, and with the time involved, I just don't feel like dealing with it.

Good to know it can go that far at least on some cars. I was surprised Lexus was asking for 30k change intervals while Toyota on identical engine Camry/Avalon/Rav4 just said "inspect".

I have switched to Castrol LMA (Low Moisture Absorption) Dot4 fluid and change it at ~100k intervals but also check it for moisture content every 30k.

Brake fluid change at 30k but lifetime transmission fluid LOL. Lexus maintenance recommendations are very amusing to me.

This is simply a money maker for the service department. It will never hurt to change it at 30k intervals, but it definitely does not need it.
