I know that the factory recommends brake fluid change at 30k is this the same for the ES350 as it is for my ES300h or is i this just because it uses the breaking to charge and maintenance the hybrid components?
I used to get the brake fluid changed in most my other vehicles every 50-60k
the 2016 ES300h now has 51k on it and I'm going to have the brake fluid done this Friday
The Dealership usually I would always go to but thats not where my appointment is this time because the price difference is drastically different the dealership wanted 159.00 for this service
the Big O Tires said they would be able to do it with the proper fluid called for which I guess is full synthetic brake fluid for 59.99 so considering this is a 100 dollar difference sim going to go to the Big O Tires for this to be done
but something the dealership mentioned to me when I asked them if they could get any close to this price and they explained no because it takes like at least an hour for them the way they do it they said they flush it out and breed it from each brake caliper
I don't know if Big O tires are going to do this procedure of if they just hook up a machine to the breaking resvour and then flush it out that way
does anyone think that its better to go to the dealership for this and have them do it the way they explained to me or do you think it will be fine to have it done at the big o tires I didn't ask them if they do it from each caliper or what but if they did that way id think they would charge more than 59.99 considering an hour labor in this area is usually around 110-129 per hour .
any info on this will help.
like does it matter how they do it or is the main thing that it just gets new fluid ? is having it done by each caliper really mean that much at all considering that iv been reading most people have never had to have there pads replaced or brake work done untill a few 100k miles so im wondering if the only thing that matters is that new fluid gets put in and old fluid goes out or should it be done from each caliper direclty ?

Highly suggest you get it done through the dealership, it is a reasonable price, and you will not regret it.

Call your local Toyota dealership. Usually about 25% less then Lexus. Will do the exact thing.

I use the local Toyota dealer for service on my Lexus vehicles. Their charge for doing the brake fluid has been right around $100.

I might trust a tire dealer to do things like tire rotations, wheel balancing, alignments, and oil changes, but I would not trust a tire dealer to do much more than that in the way of maintenance or repairs.

Agreed, unless you have an independent shop that you trust, go with a Toyota dealer.

The process it different from an ES350 and an ES300h.

I did the wife's CT200h and watched a lot of Youtube videos first. Each one was on a Toyota/Lexus Hybrid System and all of them while similar to each other, they are quite different than the conventional braking system of a ES350 and other cars.

The rear brakes pump the fluid out by themselves (no need to pump the brakes while cracking open the bleeder valve).

i called the toyota Dealership downtown and asked them they charge 124.99 for this service which is 20-25 less than lexus dealership does
i also have that this dealership is part of the costco auto service discount program so then ill get 15% off the 124.99 so will be like 108 plus taxes for them to do it
i hope the lady didnt miss understand me and thing i was saying break fluid change i told them that i wanted the price for the break flush and told them what my lexus dealer wanted to charge and they told me what they would charge if they try and to a switch and baint info on me when there i will just simply try to kill them with kindness and if they refuse what they had told me on the phone then ill just simply explain ill use the power of social media to leave reviews in this area seems to work all the time because the dealership are owned by the same auto group and i always get help when i do it that way.

well if they don't then ill go to the lexus dealership next door and pay them 154.99 less the 15% off that they will give me for costco discount there i know they will be doing it from each caliper
but im not going to assume until after i go to toyota tomorrow and ask them

124 but before you think i told ya so and you where write wait for it wait for it
the Flush was 129.99 - the 15% plus taxs and shop fees for a total of 130.00 after taxes
and yes it was the flush they did

I had a brake flush at Lexus dealership in Canada. Price $150 CAD plus tax, which is about $115 US (tax is 13% though, but nothing I can do about that)

My Corvette was flushed after24 years at my local trusted independent garage for $89.99. GM wanted $225.00. The Boss's Honda was flushed after 10 years at the same place for $99.99. Honda wanted $420.00. Point is, if you trust the local indy garage and they promise to do what needs to be done, then have it done there. The Lexus dealer won't do it better, they'll just charge you more... And in both cases I bought Prestone pure synthetic brake fluid at Walmart for the change saving even more money...

I had the brake fluid changed at the ~30k miles service and am due for it now at 60k. Called mechanic to schedule and he asked why I'm doing it. He said he wouldn't do it or can wait until 100k miles when asked if I should ever do it.

Which way do I go?
