Default Using voice to dial a POI.

When using the built in navigation system, I can use the buttons to find a POI (Dairy Queen), then call it.

I don't have to actually set that as the navigation destination.

After I searched for Dairy Queens, once I selected the location I was looking for, it then brings up a screen where I can either call it, or confirm that I want to add it to the route.

How come I can't call it using voice commands? I told the voice command to "Find Nearby Destination", then "Find POI", then "Find Dairy Queen". It then wanted me to immediately set that as the navigation destination and add it to the route. I didn't see an option to call it. I wanted to call them to ask if they were open.

Good question. Lexus dealers have staff who are experts in nav, telephone, etc. Swing by and they're likely to help at no charge.

Thanks. The next time I'm at a dealer, I might do that.

Or I might email the technology specialist who has helped me before.

It seems like the Lexus decision makers are doing little if anything to improve the interface. It's been an ongoing complaint for years. I had a couple Mercedes models recently and their interface has complaints too. Perhaps what makes a good interface is so subjective...

I take interface complaints with a huge grain of salt. Every interface has its haters. Same thing for opinions regarding Android/Apple or PC/Mac and so on. As you said, it is subjective and we all love to push our own opinions. No interface is perfect, nor will it satisfy everyone. I guess it’s another one of those first world problems.
