You dont need amsoil, its BS marketing to suck your money. buy any quality brand synthetic oil such as pennzoil, mobil1 and etc, change it as required, and I can assure you, your engine will not give you oil related problems.
if you change oil as per manufacture recommended intervals, OEM filter will do fine
I totally agree. BUT, I enjoy maintaining my vehicles using the best stuff available, and its enjoyable for me to research and find out the best fluids, filters, car care products, etc.

This ain't brain surgery... ANY name brand full synthetic oil such as Valvoline, Castrol, Mobil, Quaker State, will do the job. Then pick up a name brand filter and you're golden...

This is the answer. Also consider convenience in shopping OTC vs. special order.

Ordering stuff from Amazon and just having it show up at my house is way more convenient to me than driving to a store and buying something.

consider online ordering from walmart, they seem to have cheaper prices for mobil1 than amazon.
you will never see me in walmart, the place is a dump, but OK online

But I don’t use Mobil 1. If you want to use Mobil 1 the cheapest place is Walmart agreed.

I used to think the same way until reading that Toyota has a specific formula produced for their vehicles based on the engine specifics. I will say that the engine "seems" to have a little louder valve train noise with Toyota synthetic vs. Mobil 1. Probably just me.

Also agree that just about any 0-20 synthetic will do.

Plenty of good info here.......oil threads are easier to deal with then tire threads.

So I purchased the OEM Toyota oil via the Amazon package......12qts for $84.......basically $7 per quart. Then following SW17's lead I am purchasing the AmsOil filter which will be $21, So rounding up I will be paying $65 for a full synthetic oil change with the best filtration possible. Maybe as the car gets up in miles I can ween her off the OEM nipple and over to Walmart Mobile 1 with a Mobile 1 filter....which I havent done the math but I assume would save me about $20 per oil change.

Note I dont drive my car much as I have a company vehicle that I drive all week......my car new to me only has 21k miles on it......it will take forever to put 5k to 7k miles on it for its oil change.

A good point some of you guys made......u just dont see many oil related failures out there.......advice taken.....just want to spoil my garage queen for a while.

I think mobil1 filter is also around $20, which is too much for a filter IMHO. If you are not doing 20K oil changes, you dont need to buy fancy $20 oil filter.

There is also no solid evidence that Toyota oil at $7 per quart is any better than Mobil1 AFE you can get at walmart for $5 per quart. Toyota/Honda marketing likes to push their oils by making it sound like they are adding something special that you can only find in their oil, its all marketing.

I have not read the manual, but I think it requires 0w-20, does not need to be full synthetic? 0w-20 is available in synthetic blend. So my point is that if you go with full synthetic, you are already going above and beyond of what manufacture requires for 10K oil change.

You can call it whatever you want, and you don't have to participate in it if its not a discussion that interests you.

As I normally do I dodged and weaved.......and at the last second because the damn AmsOil filter was impossible for me to find on Amazon or anywhere else other then the AmsOil site........oh then I tried to order on the AmsOil site and they wanted to charge me $9.00 shipping on an oil filter......I just gave up! I switched over to the Mobile 1 filter because its available everywhere....well built.....and the Toyota oil is Mobile 1 anyway so I thought it would be a good match. It still cost me $20 for the filter.
Note I didnt search for coupons or wait for a special i am just on a mission to get my oil changed and a base line started.
I bet u guys will tell me my filter is available on Amazon to........well if it is.....I sure as hell couldnt find it.
My car is a 2016 ES350
