Trunk release
For those of you without the power assisted trunk, when you click the trunk release button on your remote (or the button inside the car) does your trunk lid pop up into the open position or just unlatch and look like it's still closed? Mine just unlatches and sits there like it's still closed and my dealer claims that is normal.

My 2013 just releases, and barely moves, making it look like it still is closed. I had wondered if that was normal too. I expected a little more popup, but then maybe its so that it doesn't fly open and get things exposed to things like rain? Other cars I had popped open more without opening all the way.

The ES300h has the deck lid spoiler and it is also available as an accessory. You can change the trunk lid counterweight
spring to compensate for this weight. Pull back the trunk side trim, remove the plastic rivets first, to expose the spring ends.
Note which slot is used and simply pull the spring end toward you and release it back into another slot. Do both sides and
before reinstalling the trim panels close and trigger the trunk to open. You should get a bit more lift when released. Fine tune
this tension until you are happy!

EDIT: 7th gen folks straightened me out. Have to press and hold (default setting of .8 seconds) and then it opens fully in about 3 - 4 seconds.
